Algae in Ambleside Pond

Algae blooms often occur in warm, shallow, and slow-moving water where light and nutrients are available. This is a natural process that affects the pond’s water quality and appearance. Less rainfall and higher temperatures during the summer months create more favourable conditions for algae growth. The Parks department takes measures every year to mitigate algae blooms and is exploring a longer-term solution.
