164 and 172 Oxley Street South

Development Application - Active Applications

The owners of 164 and 172 Oxley Street South have submitted an application for Foreshore Development Permit with variances 22-011 to allow for construction of a new single-family dwelling on the subject site, which consists of two legal lots to be consolidated into one legal lot.

The Foreshore Development Permit Area is established to minimize risk to people and property from coastal hazards including sea level rise, storms, wave effects, and flooding; to support coastal management in reducing flooding risks; and to preserve and enhance the integrity of the intertidal habitat of the foreshore and minimize shoreline erosion. Under the Foreshore Development Permit, zoning variances may be considered by the Director to protect the dwelling from coastal flooding hazards.

The proposed single-family dwelling complies with Foreshore Protection Area Guidelines in the Official Community Plan. Zoning bylaw variances are requested, as per proposed plans, to allow for the proposed on-site works.
