As the winter months approach, heavy snowfall can cause challenges for some residents—particularly elderly citizens and residents with illnesses, disabilities, or mobility challenges. West Vancouver’s Snow Angels offer voluntary assistance to these community members.
This new initiative connects residents in need with Snow Angel volunteers who assist with clearing snow from their sidewalk or walkway in the event of snow accumulations of two centimetres or more.
VOLUNTEER TO BE A SNOW ANGEL
Contact us if you are interested in volunteering to be a Snow Angel.
As a Snow Angel, you will be assigned to a resident in need for the winter season. Whenever possible, you will be assigned to individuals in your local area.
Snow Angels will bring their own snow shovels. Salt will be provided to aid in your efforts.
REQUEST A SNOW ANGEL
We encourage you to first talk to your neighbours, friends, and family members for assistance. If you still need help—contact us.
HOW IT WORKS
- Make a request if you need assistance.
- A Snow Angel will be assigned to clear your walkway and sidewalk for the season. Once your snow angel is assigned, you can call them directly every time it snows with accumulations of at least 2 centimetres or more.
- If you no longer need your Snow Angel, follow up with us so we can reassign them to someone else in need.
