Street tree pruning and parking impacts in Ambleside and Dundarave beginning March 23

Street trees

Tree work in the Ambleside and Dundarave business areas is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 23 and take approximately one week to complete.

The objectives of this work are to prune approximately 240 trees to maintain public safety, support long-term tree health, improve visibility and sightlines, and enhance streetscape aesthetics.

Parking impacts

Work will begin on Monday, March 23 along the 1300 block of Marine Drive in Ambleside and move west along Marine Drive and adjacent streets towards Dundarave. The crew will typically complete a couple of blocks per day.

  • On the day pruning occurs on a block, no parking will be permitted on that block to allow crews and equipment to work safely.
  • No parking signs will be removed as work progresses to reopen parking in areas where pruning is complete.

Any updates about parking impacts will be posted on our Traffic Updates page.

Protecting our urban forest

Our urban forest is part of what makes our streets vibrant and welcoming. We proactively prune trees in busy business areas to keep them healthy, safe, and thriving for everyone to enjoy.

Beyond street trees, we are also planting new trees in parks and green spaces and providing ongoing care including pruning and watering newly planted trees to ensure they grow strong and healthy.
