Ambleside Skatepark Mural

The Ambleside Skatepark Mural was completed in September 2025 by artist Andrew Tavuciyan. The mural was funded by the West Vancouver Foundation and the District of West Vancouver through the Temporary Public Art Program.

Background

Andrew Tavukciyan was selected for the project out of 48 artist submissions by a selection panel comprised of West Vancouver residents.

To assist with generating ideas for the final concept and design, Andrew attended a Skate Jam on June 14, 2025 hosted by the Boardroom Shop. Andrew also connected with students from West Vancouver Secondary School which he attended as a high school student.

About the artist

Andrew Tavuciyan  is a Vancouver-based Canadian-Armenian visual artist and designer, with a focus on murals and painting. A graduate of Emily Carr University’s industrial design program, the subject matter of his work is centred around abstract forms that reference industrial/mechanical elements, as well as biological/ organic elements.

Andrew has been painting murals professionally since 2017, both interior and exterior, and has participated in festivals like the Vancouver Mural Festival, the Nelson International Mural Festival, and the BUMP Festival. Andrew was born and raised in West Vancouver, attending the West Vancouver Secondary School.
