Busking

For the summer of 2026, busking and street performance are allowed in specific areas of West Vancouver as a pilot program.

Musicians, jugglers, artists, dancers, magicians and other performers can showcase their talents in Ambleside Park, business areas of Ambleside and Dundarave, Dundarave Park, and Horseshoe Bay.

Performers are requested to adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Buskers must be a minimum of 16 years old.
  • Maximum number of three performers per group.
  • Maximum amount of time each performer is allowed to perform in one space is one hour; Buskers are requested to change locations.
  • Compliance with the Noise Control Bylaw No. 4404 with a maximum of 70 decibels and no amplification allowed.
  • Permitted hours of busking 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Equipment or props should not include any sharp or flaming objects.
  • A business licence or permit is not required to busk.
  • The sale of materials is prohibited without a business licence.
  • Buskers are requested to comply with business owners requests not to busk in front of their store and move to another location.
  • Buskers must ensure access to sidewalks and storefronts is not blocked.
  • Busking is not allowed on Bellevue Avenue between 13th Street and 18th Street as most spaces suitable for performance are on private property.
  • Busking is not allowed during the Harmony Arts Festival on Argyle Avenue between 13th Street and 17th Street from July 27 to August 13, 2026.
