Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for the North Shore, forecasting heavy rain on Friday, August 15. The rain is expected to intensify during the afternoon commute.
Rainfall amounts of 50 to 80 mm are expected. Travel may be difficult in some areas. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
Be aware of the potential for sudden rises in river and creek levels in response to heavy rain over the mountains.

During periods of heavy rainfall:
- Please take a few minutes to clear leaves from catch basins near your property so rainwater can drain from the streets.
- Slow down and drive carefully.
- Stay clear of rivers due to quickly flowing water, ice, and potentially unstable riverbanks.
- Have an emergency plan and kit to help you and your family be prepared for a power outage.
