Rainfall warning: December 17

rain

Environment Canada issued a rainfall warning for the North Shore, forecasting heavy rain to begin around noon on Tuesday, December 17 into the morning of Wednesday, December 18.

Rainfall amounts of 50 to 70 mm are expected. Travel may be difficult in some areas and heavy downpours can cause water pooling on roads.

During periods of heavy rainfall:

  • Please take a few minutes to clear leaves from catch basins near your property so that rainwater can drain from the streets.
  • Slow down and drive carefully.
  • Stay clear of rivers due to quickly flowing water and potentially unstable riverbanks.
  • Have an emergency plan and kit to help you and your family be prepared for a power outage.
