The District appointed a Community Website Working Group to provide insights and input into how the new website should be developed in terms of navigation, design preferences, usability and testing. The Working Group members brought the perspectives of seniors, families, youth, and business to the table.
In 2010 the District of West Vancouver initiated a review of its services for youth, delivered through the Parks and Community Services Division, to ensure they are as effective as possible in responding to the needs and desires of our youth and families. In 2011, six focus groups were held, gathering input from community members (youth, parents, partners, and District staff) through dialogue and written surveys.
The findings from these consultations—along with research on best practices and youth services in other communities, as well as past studies and reports conducted in West Vancouver—provide valuable information that will help inform future programs, services and operations in Youth Services in West Vancouver.
