8645 Lawrence Way

Development Application - Active Applications

The owners of 8645 Lawrence Way have submitted an application for Development Variance Permit and concurrent Wildfire Hazard Development Permit 23-127 to retroactively allow for a new single-family dwelling on the subject site.

A building permit and environmental development permit were previously issued to accommodate a renovation and addition to the existing single-family dwelling as well as a new driveway, retaining walls, and landscaping on the subject site. As a result of changes made to the proposal during construction, the applicant is now requesting a Development Variance Permit with a concurrent Wildfire Hazard Development Permit to retroactively allow for a new single-family dwelling rather than an alteration to the existing single-family dwelling.

The applicant is requesting zoning variance, as per the proposed plans, to allow for the proposed development. A Minor Development Variance Permit may be delegated to the Director of Planning and Development Services if it is for a single-family site and it only varies provisions of the Zoning Bylaw with respect to the siting, size, and dimensions of buildings or structures, or off-street parking requirements.

Proposed Plans

Council has delegated the approval of minor development variance permits to the Director of Planning and Development Services, subject to public input. Please provide your written comments no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2024, to make them available to the Director for their consideration.
