December 2024

Following public notification of this proposal, the Director of Planning, Development and Environment Services considered and approved DVP 24-072 on December 19, 2024.

Approved plans

November 2024

The owners of 4890 Water Lane have submitted an application for a Development Variance Permit to allow for renovations and additions to the existing single-family dwelling on the subject site.

Proposed Development Variance Permit 24-072 would allow for renovations and additions to the existing single-family dwelling on the subject site. The applicants are requesting zoning variances, as per proposed plans, to allow for the proposed works.

Proposed plans

On a single-family site, a zoning variance is considered minor if it only varies provisions of the Zoning Bylaw with respect to the siting, size and dimensions of buildings or structures, or off-street parking requirements. A minor development variance permit may be delegated to the Director provided that the following guidelines are considered in deciding whether to issue the permit: protecting development from hazardous conditions, responding to neighbourhood context, character and streetscape, and minimizing potential impacts to adjacent or nearby properties, or the natural environment.

Council has delegated the approval of minor development variance permits to the Director of Planning & Development Services, subject to public input. Please provide your written comments no later than 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, to make them available to the Director for his consideration.
