May 2026 update

The District is processing a rezoning application for 1337 Ottawa Avenue to facilitate a two lot subdivision and develop a single family dwelling on each lot.

At the May 11, 2026 Council meeting, Council set the date for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd reading of the bylaw at its meeting on June 8, 2026 at 6 p.m. Please note that the District is prohibited from holding a public hearing on the bylaw under provisions of the Local Government Act.

December 2024

The District received a formal redevelopment application for the property at 1337 Ottawa Avenue. The applicant proposes to rezone the site to facilitate a two lot subdivision and develop a single family dwelling on each lot. The application is currently under review.

The proposal will require a rezoning and would be considered under Official Community Plan policy 2.1.1 which aims to consider site-specific applications to enable the development of smaller houses on smaller lots in existing detached residential areas.
 

October 2024

The District received a Preliminary Development Proposal for the property at 1337 Ottawa Avenue. The site is currently developed with a single family dwelling. The preliminary application proposed to subdivide the property at 1337 Ottawa Avenue and construct two new single family dwellings.

The applicant held a preliminary public information meeting on October 3, 2024 to provide information about the proposal, answer questions, and receive public input. Note: This was not District-led public consultation, it was hosted by the applicant.
