Short term work impacting traffic

Taylor Way, south of Marine Drive at the intersection of Park Royal South

  • Expect traffic impacts on Taylor Way, south of Marine Drive at the intersection of Park Royal South from Tuesday, September 14 to Friday, September 17 due to road paving work in the northbound curb lane. Hours of construction will be between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
  • Please note that vehicle access to West Royal Towers will be maintained from Taylor Way, but not from Park Royal South.

1300 Block Marine Drive

  • Expect temporary parking restrictions on the south side of Marine Drive, between 1350 and 1370 Marine Drive from Monday, August 16, to Tuesday, September 21, between 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • As the crew work their way west along the south side of Marine Drive, and it is determined safe, the parking restrictions will be lifted and no stopping signs removed.

Long term work impacting traffic 

4100 Blk Marine Drive, Sherman Street and Rose Crescent

  • Expect minor traffic impacts on the 4100 Block of Marine Drive, Sherman Street and at the intersection of Rose Crescent and Sherman Street starting Wednesday, September 1 for approximately 10 weeks depending on the underground conditions encountered, owing to work to install a new section of watermain and fire hydrants. Work hours will be between 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, or as necessary to complete the project.
  • There will be single-lane, alternating traffic on the 4100 Block of Marine Drive during work hours.
  • Construction signage and traffic control personnel will be on-site to assist with traffic flow.

Gleneagles Drive at the intersection of Gleneagles Close

  • Expect minor traffic impacts and occasional delays accessing Gleneagles Close and Blink Bonnie Road from Gleneagles Drive due to lift station replacement work. Construction will begin the week of July 12 and is anticipated to be complete in October 2021. Hours of construction will be between 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. Project details.

Ferry Building restoration (1414 Argyle Avenue)

  • Eight parking spots beside the Ferry Building Gallery will be closed throughout the construction phase of the project to accommodate the construction activity. Traffic and pedestrian flow, as well as other parking disruptions to the north of the gallery on Argyle Avenue, will occur intermittently during construction activity. Learn more.

Welch Street bridge improvements

  • Expect intermittent delays and single-lane alternating traffic on Welch Street Bridge due to pedestrian and cycling improvement work. This project is expected to be substantially completed by late October. Details.

Lions Gate Bridge lane closure

  • The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is replacing the lane control system on Lions Gate Bridge. Work takes place June 14 to mid-November 2021.
  • Drivers can expect single-lane closures from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday to Thursday, with schedule adjustments as work progresses. Project details.

Headland Drive, between Sprucefeild Road and HWY 1, and Caulfeild Drive between Headland Drive and Rutland Road

  • Expect minor traffic delays starting Monday, June 14 for approximately two to three months, due to work to install a new section of watermain and fire hydrants. Work hours will be between 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday, or as necessary to complete the project.
  • Construction signage and traffic control personnel will be on-site to assist with traffic flow.
