West Vancouver Fire & Rescue want you to have a safe and happy Halloween. Here are some tips to make this Halloween fire smart and safe for everyone.
Halloween fire hazards
- Avoid using real candles in your jack-o’-lanterns
- Keep decorations away from open flames
- Keep exits clear of decorations
- Make sure all smoke alarms in the home are working
Fireworks
Effective October 16, 2023, the District of West Vancouver banned consumer use and sale of fireworks. This ban aligns West Vancouver with neighbouring municipalities that have banned consumer fireworks and addresses the concerns of the community as well as our changing climate and environment.
