There are several ways to lace up your skates and get out on the ice in West Vancouver! We offer open skate times and lessons for different age groups, as well as stick and puck, hockey lessons, and more.
Come prepared for your session with a helmet and wear warm, layered, comfortable clothing with gloves or mittens. Rental skates and helmets are available if needed and are included in lesson costs. They are cleaned and disinfected after each use.

Admission to public skate is on a drop-in basis. Simply drop in and pay at the front desk. Skate rentals available.

Descriptions
Adult/senior skate this public skating session is for adults and seniors only. Come skate with friends and maintain your fitness over winter in a social and fun way! No coaching during these sessions. Regular drop-in rates apply.
Adult ice dance is for ice dancers only! This is a public skating ice dance session for adult skaters 18y+ who want to practice their ice dance skills and work on their ice dance patterns. Ice dancing is the skating of prescribed dance patterns to specific music such as tango and waltz rhythms. Ice dancers use the entire ice surface to skate the dances.
No coaching is allowed during these ice times. Regular drop-in rates apply. This is a drop-in activity and pre-registration for this event is not required. To enroll in this program, please visit the front desk at the Ice Arena and pay in person.
Adult figure skate is for figure skaters only! This is a skate session that caters to figure skaters. No full ice routines allowed. No coaching is allowed during these ice times. Regular drop-in rates apply. This is a drop-in activity & pre-registration for this event is not required. To enroll in this program, please visit the Front Desk at the Ice Arena and pay in person.
Toonie ($2) skate takes place every Wednesday for all ages and every Friday early afternoon for children and youth (adults pay regular rate).
Public skate is open to skaters of all ages. Come skate with family and friends or on your own! Regular drop-in rates apply.

Join us on the ice! Drop-in hockey includes 20 skaters and 2 goalies max per session—full gear is mandatory. Pre-registration is required.
Skaters and goalies register under different activities (titled either Skater or Goalie). In order to register to play in goal, you must be on the approved goalie list. If you’re a new goalie to these sessions, contact Faisal to be added to the list.

Stick & Puck Program Pilot
Based on feedback from participants and staff, we are piloting new Stick & Puck program age categories. The goal is to make sure that similar age groups can skate together in a safe manner.
The NEW structure is as follows:
5 to 8y
Beginner fun for young children where parents are encouraged to join their children. Help your child build confidence and strengthen skating skills while developing a love for the sport. Parents are allowed to participate with their child(ren).The session is 45 minutes long.
Parents accompanying their children on the ice must book a spot for themselves separately.
9 to 11y
This Stick & Puck session is focused towards children ages 9 to 11 years of all skating abilities and backgrounds. Parents are allowed to participate with their child(ren).The session is 45 minutes long.

12y+
This Stick & Puck session is focused towards children 12 years+ of all skating abilities and backgrounds. Parents are allowed to participate with their child(ren).The session is 45 minutes long.

18y+
This is an adult-only session, where participants must pre-register for a spot and reserve skate rentals at the time of registration.The session is 90 minutes long.
General Rules & Regulations for ALL Stick & Puck Age Categories:
• Preregistration is required. On-site registration is only available if spots are available or until capacity is reached.
• Participants must check-in with the attendant on ice to register their attendance.
• Full gear is NOT required. Hockey gloves, skates, a helmet with a cage or visor, and a hockey stick with a plug are required to be on the ice. Skates can be rented at the skate shop.

Adult Stick and Puck 18y+ is a drop-in opportunity to practice shooting and stick skills. A helmet with a cage or visor, hockey gloves, and a hockey stick with plug are mandatory.
More About Skating & Lessons

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled lesson time.
- For group lessons: find your nametag on the table in the lobby.
- For private lessons: wait at the private lesson area of the lobby. You’ll be directed on the ice at your lesson start time. Group lessons will begin with a group warm up followed by separation into skill level groups.
Helmets are mandatory and must be CAA approved skating or snow sport helmet. Face cages are strongly recommended for beginner skaters. Wear warm layered comfortable clothing with gloves or mittens.
Rental skates and helmets are available if needed and included in the lesson cost. They are cleaned and disinfected after each use.
Parents are not allowed on ice for lessons with the exception of Parent & Tot programs or private lesson bookings.
