The West Vancouver Police Department (WVPD) is warning residents of a scam utilizing WVPD’s non-emergency phone number.
Potential victims are told they are speaking to an officer of the West Vancouver Police Department and are provided with a fake name and badge number. The scammers are asking for personal information, putting people at significant risk of financial or identity fraud.
Please note that the WVPD will never ask for bail money, bitcoin, gift cards, or money transfers, and we will not ask you to download apps on your phone.
