Join us on Tuesday, August 19 from 12:15 to 2:30 p.m. on the waterfront in West Vancouver for a special public event to welcome Stanley Cup Champion and Florida Panthers forward Sam Reinhart back to his hometown.

Everyone is invited to gather along the Centennial Seawalk for a first look at the Stanley Cup and to cheer Sam on as he arrives by boat. The boat tour will begin at 12:15 p.m. at the Welcome Figure in Ambleside Park, near 13th Street, and travel west, arriving at Dundarave Pier, at the base of 25th Street, at 12:45 p.m.

Following the boat tour, Mayor Mark Sager will give a welcome speech, followed by remarks from Sam Reinhart, from the patio area of the Beach House (150 25th Street). These can be observed from the lawn in front of the restaurant.

Beginning at 1 p.m., pre-registered fans will have the opportunity to have their photo taken with Sam and the Stanley Cup at the pier. All photos will be taken by a professional photographer. Pre-registration for photos will be required through ActiveNet. Registration will open at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12 at activewestvanrec.ca (course #202338). New ActiveNet users will need to create an account to register.

Limited space is available, and attendees are encouraged to register as a group. Up to five people may be included per photo, and one registration is required per group.

The cost to register is $25, which includes a digital photo to be received by email after the event. All proceeds from the event will go to support the West Vancouver Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue and Cops for Cancer.

Limited parking is available at Dundarave Park and there may be temporary road closures due to construction and event congestion. Please consider walking, cycling, carpooling, or taking transit. Those registered for the photo opportunity should plan to arrive early to be checked in and line up for photos.
