The District of West Vancouver is now accepting applications for the Permissive Tax Exemption (PTE) program.

Permissive tax exemptions reduce or eliminate property taxes for properties that serve a public, charitable, or community purpose, such as those operated by non-profit organizations, charities, and public institutions. These exemptions recognize the value these organizations provide to the broader community.

Organizations must apply each year. Applications are reviewed by the District’s Community Grants Committee, which provides recommendations to Council. Council ultimately approves these taxpayer-funded exemptions.

Applications must be submitted by March 31, 2026.

This is the only opportunity to apply for a property tax exemption for the 2027 tax year. Organizations that do not apply may be responsible for paying property taxes.
