Message from the Mayor and Municipal Manager regarding yesterday’s tragic accident in Horseshoe Bay

As West Vancouver Police are currently investigating the accident, and information and details continue to unfold, Mayor Mark Sager and Municipal Manager, Scott Findlay, would like to share the following messages:

Mayor Mark Sager: “The accident is a horrible tragedy and sad beyond all measure. On behalf of all of Council, I want to express that our heartfelt thoughts are with the families and all those impacted. I would also like to express gratitude to everyone helping at this very difficult and unthinkably sad time.”

Municipal Manager Scott Findlay: “We at the District of West Vancouver are deeply saddened by the tragic and fatal bus accident that occurred in Horseshoe Bay yesterday. Our hearts go out to all those affected, and we extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones directly impacted.  In the midst of this devastating event, we want to recognize and express our profound gratitude for the incredible efforts of our first responders and staff. Their swift, coordinated, and courageous actions during such a traumatic scene were nothing short of heroic. For all who have helped and supported, you have been a source of strength for everyone impacted, and you have my heartfelt appreciation. As we move forward, please know that resources and supports are available for anyone in the community who needs them.  We encourage everyone to do what they need to take care of themselves and one another during this difficult time.”
