Council is pleased to announce a new partnership involving the future of the former Boathouse building in Horseshoe Bay.

In February 2025, the District of West Vancouver purchased the former Boathouse building on the Horseshoe Bay waterfront with the goal of creating a vibrant community-serving cultural facility. Following further review and community discussions, the District expanded its approach and as part of this process, has invited Expressions of Interest for naming rights and partnership opportunities connected to the building’s renovation and best long-term use of the site.

Today, Council are excited to share that the District is now working with the Howe Sound Biosphere Region Initiative Society and the Sitka Foundation to help determine future programming and use of the facility. This new partnership reflects a shared interest in creating a new, welcoming public space to support a range of community, cultural, environmental, and educational opportunities for residents and visitors.

Additional details on programming, renovations, and future uses for the facility will be shared as planning work continues.
