The District of West Vancouver has again received recognition from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for excellence in governmental accounting and financial reporting.
Our 2021 Annual Report, which reflects on the District’s activities, divisional accomplishments, and financial performance, earned the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting.
The Canadian Award for Financial Reporting is presented to governments whose annual reports go beyond the minimum requirements to clearly communicate the municipality’s financial story and thereby motivates residents to read the report. West Vancouver has received the award every year since 2005.
The District has also earned the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the 2022–2026 Five-Year Financial Plan, which looks to the future and outlines how resources will be allocated to achieve Council’s priorities and deliver services at the highest available level.
This accolade represents the District’s commitment to meeting best practices of governmental budgeting while also satisfying nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. It is the 11th consecutive year that the District has received the award.
