The Boyd House (985 Duchess Avenue)
The District has received an application for a Heritage Revitalization Agreement (HRA) for 985 Duchess Avenue (Boyd House). If approved by Council, the HRA would:
- maintain and protect the existing residence with heritage values
- build an additional residence on the southern portion of the site
- subdivide the site into two separate lots with vehicular access to the new residence/lot from Duchess Avenue
The HRA and associated Heritage Designation Bylaw were given first reading by Council on December 2, 2019. Council scheduled a Public Hearing on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 6 p.m. to allow for formal public input on the proposal. A Public Information Meeting (held by the applicant to further help understanding of the project) is slated to be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2020, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the West Vancouver Community Centre in the Arbutus Studio.
The Heritage Advisory Committee supported the proposal on April 16, 2019, provided that minor revisions are addressed to the satisfaction of District staff.
