West Vancouver’s 2021 population was approximately 2% lower than the 45,000 people projected in the 2018 Official Community Plan (OCP). The 2018 OCP anticipated steady but modest growth of 3.7% every five years to reach approximately 54,000 residents by 2041. This projection aligns closely with the actual 3.9% growth from 2016 to 2021 and is generally consistent with the Province’s long-term population projection for the District. Over the next two decades, West Vancouver is expected to account for about 1% of total regional growth1.
