Development Application - Active Applications

April 2024 update

Council held a public hearing and concurrent public meeting about the development proposal on April 8, 2024. The public hearing is now closed and Council cannot receive any further correspondence or input on the proposed bylaws. 

Council gave second and third readings to the proposed bylaws at its meeting on April 22, 2024. Once precedent conditions to adoption are completed, the bylaws and development permit will be scheduled for final approval at a future council meeting (date to be determined).

March 2023 update

The applicant will be hosting an in-person meeting on its development proposal on April 11, 2023 at the Gleneagles Clubhouse located at 6190 Marine Drive. The meeting will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Information is also available on the applicant's website at www.AquilaLiving.com.

A Council meeting date for consideration of the application has not yet been determined. This page will be updated with the future Council meeting date(s) once they are known.

October 2021

The District has received a development application for Lots C and D on Daffodil Drive known as "Aquila."

The proposal is for two single-family dwellings and 17 duplexes (34 units) for a total of 36 units with a proposed Floor Area Ratio (FAR) of 0.38. Vehicle access for 12 units is via Westport Road, and 24 units are accessed via Daffodil Drive. Resident parking is contained within one two-car garage per unit, for a total of 72 spaces, plus 10 visitor parking spaces distributed throughout the site. The buildings are two storeys plus basements.

The application is under review. Dates for future public meetings and considerations by Council will be posted to this page as they are determined.

March 2021

Council received an information report on the proposed development at its February 8, 2021 meeting. A development application has not been received. The District will work with the community and the applicant should an application be received.

February 2021 update

Council will be considering an information report regarding this preliminary proposal at its February 8, 2021 Council meeting. Note: This meeting is not a public hearing.

December 2020 update

The applicant hosted a virtual public information meeting on its revised proposal on December 10, 2020. Note: This was not a District-consultation, it was a development sponsored meeting hosted by the applicant.

November 2020 update

At the November 16, 2020 Council meeting, Council voted to defer the receipt of the report for the preliminary development proposal for Daffodil Drive at this time. Council requested that the applicant engage with the community on the preliminary development proposal and consider public feedback as part of a revised proposal.

July 2020

The District has received a preliminary development proposal for Lots C and D Daffodil Drive (south of 5665 Daffodil Drive).

The applicant held a physical public information meeting on its plans on July 27, 2020 and a virtual public information meeting on its website at aquialiving.com between July 16 to July 27, 2020. Note: This was not a District consultation, it was a development-sponsored meeting.

A development application has not been received. The District will work with the community and the applicant should an application be received.
