Following public notification of this proposal, the Director of Planning, Development and Environment Services approved this Development Permit for 5515 Ocean Place on December 8, 2025.
The Foreshore Development Permit with variances (DP 25-080) allows for an existing non-functioning tram system located on the property to be repurposed into a stairway system. The proposed stair system, consisting of lower stairs and a main stairway structure, would provide access from the dwelling to the property’s shoreline area at the bottom of a steep slope. The proposal complies with Foreshore Protection Area Guidelines in the Official Community Plan.
