Following public notification of this proposal, the Director of Planning, Development & Environment Services approved this Development Permit on April 3, 2025 to allow construction of a detached secondary suite (coach house).

Summary 

The approved permit would allow for the existing garage to be converted into a one-storey coach house to be located within the rear yard of the subject property. The following Zoning Bylaw variances were approved as per the proposed plans:

  1. Where a rear site line is shared with an open lane, the front entry of the coach house will face away from the open lane, instead of to the open lane.
  2. Reduce the minimum side yard setback of the RS5 Zone from 1.52 m to 1.01 m
