The District has received an application for an Environmental Development Permit (EDP 26-045) to allow for installation of a private power pole.
Lawson Creek travels in a north-south direction through the western portion of the site. An environmental development permit is required as the proposed works within the 15 m setback from the top of the watercourse bank.
Under the Official Community Plan, the development permit guidelines NE13 for watercourse protection allow staff to consider zoning bylaw variances in order to prevent or reduce loss of habitat within 15 m of the top of the watercourse bank.
Zoning bylaw variances are requested for the front yard, side yard, and combined side yard setbacks, as well as for the maximum permitted height of an accessory structure, as shown on the proposed plans, to accommodate the proposal.
Council has delegated the approval of Environmental Development Permits to the Director of Planning, Development and Environment Services, subject to public input. Please provide your written comments no later than 4:30 p.m. on June 16, 2026, to make them available to the Director for consideration.
