Harmony

A distinguishing feature of the West Vancouver Memorial Library, Harmony is a beautiful stained-glass window created in honour of Lieutenant in Command Gordon Stone, who died during active service in 1918 in WWI. The image is a reproduction of Sir Frank Dicksee’s painting Harmony and was commissioned by Stone’s father Henry and wife Beatrice. The library was built in 1950 as a memorial to those fallen in the wars, and the window was donated by Stone’s sister, Mrs. Allan S. Gentles.
