The Navvy Jack House was built as early as 1872 and remains the oldest surviving known building on the North Shore of Burrard Inlet, and one of the oldest in the Province.
The building, restored in 2026, is owned by the District of West Vancouver.
On June 22, 2026 Council adopted Heritage Designation Bylaw No. 5459, 2026, which provides for legal protection of the Navvy Jack House.
