Ambleside Park Outdoor Fitness Circuit

Parks & Recreation - Current Projects

Update – February 2024

Construction of the Keen Lau Fitness Circuit in Ambleside Park is scheduled to begin mid-February and will take approximately three months to complete.

Work will include installation of rubber surfacing, fitness equipment, and a drinking fountain. Fencing will surround the area during construction.

The fitness circuit is anticipated to be open for use by the public in May 2024.

Background

The District will install a new, public, outdoor fitness circuit in Ambleside Park, on Argyle Avenue just east of the Peter Sullivan Skatepark and the multi-use sports court. This new facility will be named the Keen Lau Fitness Circuit and will be free to the public.

In June 2023, a storage building adjacent to the sports court was removed to make space for this outdoor fitness circuit. The structure was originally built as changerooms for a pool that was located on the waterfront and, in more recent years, was used by the District for storage.

Funding for this project has been contributed by Park Royal, Ledcor Group, and community members who have made donations in Keen Lau’s memory.
