The District has received a preliminary development application for a proposed 150-unit, townhouse development at 4165-4195 Marine Drive. The proposal has been submitted on behalf of the site’s owner, the MST Development Corporation (a partnership of the Musqueam Indian Band, Squamish Nation and Tsleil-Waututh Nation). The preliminary proposal includes three townhouse buildings at three storeys in height and underground parking accessed from Marine Drive.
The proposal is being considered under Official Community Plan policy 2.1.4, which aims to increase missing middle housing options with ground-oriented, multi-family dwellings on appropriate sites along the Marine Drive transit corridor.
This proposal has not been formally submitted as a rezoning and is still within the preliminary development application stage. Once submitted as a formal rezoning, the District will process the development application in compliance with the Development Procedures Bylaw that requires public notification and consultation.
The applicant hosted a preliminary public information meeting on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at 7 p.m., in an online meeting format. To find out more about the proposal please go to the applicant’s webpage. Note: This was not District-led public consultation, it was hosted by the applicant
