The Dale Park Restoration
The natural landscape at the Dale Park in the Caulfeild area is being restored, thanks to the efforts of the Lighthouse Park Preservation Society (LPPS).
This community stewardship group has identified the rapid spread of invasive plants in the park as a threat to biodiversity and a need to restore the park with native vegetation. The LPPS was the successful applicant for a $5000 grant from the Take Root program (sponsored by Evergreen and Canon) to help fund this initiative, scheduled to begin in the fall of 2014.
Over the next two years, invasive plants will be removed and the park will be replanted with native plants. The project anticipated project completion date is fall of 2016. Be sure to revisit this page for current project information, including community events and opportunities to get involved.
The LPPS is a community group that works collaboratively with the District of West Vancouver to oversee the environmental stewardship of Lighthouse Park and five neighbouring parks in the Six-Park Network.
