Vancouver Coastal Health Authority will open a Covid-19 vaccination site in the large gymnasium at the West Vancouver Community Centre, located at 2121 Marine Drive. The gymnasium will be closed to recreation programs starting Friday, March 12. Program participants who are affected by the change will be notified by District staff.
Booking a vaccination is done through the province’s vaccine call centre, and when an appointment is made, the location of the vaccination site will be provided.
“This is wonderful news for the North Shore,” says Mayor Mary-Ann Booth. “Having a vaccination site located centrally in West Vancouver will benefit our seniors right away, and everyone in our community as the immunization program rolls out. We are very happy to work with Vancouver Coastal Health to locate this site in our community centre. We know it will be a short-term inconvenience to the gymnasium’s users, but the importance of supporting vaccinations for all British Columbians cannot be overstated as we fight this unrelenting global coronavirus pandemic together.”
Appointments must be booked with the provincial government and when you can call is based on age. For the most up-to-date call times, please visit the provincial website. Please do not call until it is your turn.
