West Vancouver closes community centres and cultural facilities

Mar 15, 2020

Effective Monday, March 16, at 8 p.m., the District of West Vancouver will be closing until further notice all District-run public facilities except Municipal Hall, the West Vancouver Police Station, all Fire Halls, the Operations Centre and the Capilano View Cemetery. The closures will include all West Vancouver community centres and cultural facilities. A complete list of closures is set out below.

“The District’s priority is the health and well-being of our community. We need to ensure we do everything we can to reduce the spread of Coronavirus for the benefit of all of West Vancouver, and the broader community. We realize this is an unprecedented and challenging time for everyone,” said Mayor Mary-Ann Booth. “This decision was considered very carefully. It is our hope that the more aggressive we are now, the shorter the duration of these impacts. We all have a role to play to protect and support our community. Stay safe and look after one another.”
