Request an emergency preparedness presentation for your community group

May 19, 2022

The District is one of the safest communities in Canada, but we all need to be prepared to do our part in an emergency.

Climate change is increasing the severity and frequency of weather events, and being prepared for an emergency could help your family and community withstand the impacts of climate events.

North Shore Emergency Management is the District's emergency preparedness department and is offering free one-hour presentations on emergency preparedness for groups of 20 or more. Presentations can be virtual or in-person (if you provide the space).

Learn how to become a more resilient community by requesting an emergency preparedness presentation for your community groups, condo association, or team.

A NSEM instructor will provide all the information your group will need to learn how to:

  • prepare for an extreme heat event
  • create an emergency plan
  • conduct a home hazard hunt
  • assemble emergency kits

If you wish to participate as an individual or small group, NSEM hosts monthly emergency preparedness courses where anyone to register. Watch their website for June and July registration, opening soon.
