Today, the District of West Vancouver has been informed that a person who was at the weight room at the West Vancouver Aquatic Centre (2121 Marine Drive) on Tuesday, March 30 and Wednesday, March 31 has tested positive for COVID-19. 

Vancouver Coastal Health will follow up with the individual and anyone who has been a close contact.

The weight room at the West Vancouver Aquatic Centre is open today for registered programs. The District has health protocols in place that include sanitizing program spaces at District facilities regularly throughout the day. Out of an abundance of caution, certain areas have had an additional enhanced cleaning.

We know that British Columbia is still in the pandemic and we are taking all appropriate precautions. We encourage everyone in our community to take steps to stay safe and healthy and do their part to reduce transmission:

• stay home if you are sick
• wear a mask in all indoor public areas in accordance with Provincial rules/guidelines
• maintain two metres distance from others at all times
• wash your hands often
