Permanent Closure of the West Vancouver Marina

Jul 10, 2018

The District of West Vancouver has terminated the sublease agreement with the operator of the West Vancouver Marina (the “Marina”), effective September 30, 2018. The Marina will remain closed until September 30, 2018, in light of the significant safety hazards that exist.

The District is hereby notifying all boat owners who have boats moored at the Marina that their boats must be removed on or before September 30, 2018, subject to an earlier deadline that may be provided by the Marina operator.  If there are any boats left at the Marina after September 30, 2018, the District may be forced to seek orders authorizing the seizure and removal of the boats.

The District regrets the inconvenience the Marina closure will cause boat owners. The District has made numerous efforts to facilitate the resolution of issues with the operator, but the hazards remain and constitute a significant risk to public safety.

If you have a boat moored at the Marina, please contact the undersigned so that you can be notified of any updates regarding this matter. Access to your boat by water can continue to be undertaken only at your own risk until latest September 30, 2018. The Marina’s docks and walkways continue to be unsafe for use.
