Drone over parks
The District has partnered with Simon Fraser University to conduct coastal survey work at District waterfront parks using several methods, including the use of a drone. Transport Canada has given clearance to fly the drone, and you might spot it over Ambleside, John Lawson and Whytecliff park this summer. Drone flight schedules depend on weather and low tide. If you see an area closed for drone photography, that's to prevent you from being caught in a photo.  Learn more.
