More wet weather on the way: be prepared

Nov 30, 2021

Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for Metro Vancouver.

Up to 120 mm of heavy rain is forecast for Tuesday, November 30 through Wednesday, December 1.

Be prepared

  • Help prevent flooding by clearing leaves and debris from catch basins and drainage areas.
  • Please slow down and drive carefully. Heavy downpours can cause water pooling on roads.
  • Stay clear of rivers due to quickly flowing water and potentially unstable riverbanks.
  • Have an emergency plan and kit to help you and your family be prepared for a power outage.

If you lose power, check the BC Hydro website for a map of reported power outages. To report an outage, contact BC Hydro at 1-888-769-3766. If you see a downed power line, stay back at least 10 metres (about the length of a bus) and call 9-1-1.

Call our dispatch line 24/7 at 604-925-7100 to report flooding and fallen trees on roads and sidewalks, and for emergency service to roads, parks, water, and sewer.
