Learn how to fix your broken household items at a Repair Café

Sep 11, 2020

The District has teamed up with Metro Van Repair Café, a non-profit association, to host a Repair Café in the outdoor patio space at West Vancouver Memorial Library. The Repair Café will be held on Saturday, September 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A Repair Café is a free community event that brings people together to learn how to fix basic household items with the help of experienced volunteers.

Community members bring broken items, including electronics, small appliances, textiles, jewelry, bikes, and woodwork for repair. Experienced volunteers bring their own tools, supplies, and expertise to help fix these broken items.

Events happen in public spaces that are accessible to the community and include a sign-in table and multiple repair stations. COVID-19 protocols will be in place.

A successful event will repair household items, promote community engagement, and educate the public. This is not a recycling event and drop-offs of broken items will not be accepted.
