Indoor programs and in-person dining at Seniors’ Activity Centre temporarily suspended

Jan 7, 2022

The number of COVID-19 cases continues to increase as a result of the Omicron variant’s high rate of transmission, and this is having an impact on the West Vancouver Seniors’ Activity Centre.

The number of people who have tested positive or are self-monitoring has had an impact on staffing and volunteer availability, and indoor programs at the Seniors’ Activity Centre have been temporarily suspended. When possible, we will continue to offer programs online. Outdoor programs and indoor rehabilitation programs will continue to operate.

In-person dining at the Seniors’ Activity Centre café has also been suspended, but take-out food is available for pick-up and the Feed the Need food delivery program is still operating. Staff are conducting wellness checks by telephone to ensure seniors who may be impacted by the weather conditions or the pandemic get the support they need.

The pandemic is constantly evolving. The District will restore indoor programs and dining when it is possible and safe to do so. Thank you for your patience as we continue to work to keep our community and staff safe.
