Development Application - Active Applications

The District has received a formal rezoning application for a proposed development that includes the rezoning and subdivision of one lot (for a total of two single-family dwellings) at 2237 Palmerston Avenue. One detached secondary suite (coach house) is also proposed on each lot.

This proposal is being considered under Official Community Plan policy 2.1.1, which allows consideration of site-specific rezoning applications to allow for subdivision appropriate to the subject site and context.

On June 26, 2023, Council provided first reading for the proposed Zoning Bylaw No. 4662, 2010, Amendment Bylaw No. 5254, 2023. A public hearing was held in Council Chamber on July 17, 2023. At that time, Council approved a motion to table the public hearing to be reconvened on September 18, 2023, to allow time for the applicant to address comments received at the Public Hearing. The applicant hosted an additional in-person public information meeting on September 14, 2023, and the reconvened public hearing was held on September 18, 2023. On September 25, 2023, Council provided second and third reading for the proposed zoning amendment bylaw.
