671, 685, 693 Clyde Avenue and 694 Duchess Avenue

The District received a preliminary proposal for the redevelopment of 671, 685, 693 Clyde Avenue and 694 Duchess Avenue (just north of Park Royal Shopping Centre). 

The proposal includes a six-storey rental apartment building with a rooftop outdoor amenity level. There are 199 "market rental" units proposed with a total of 49 parking stalls. Access to an underground parkade is proposed on the east side of the site from Clyde Avenue. The proposed rental units are referred to as "micro-units" due to the limited proposed floor area of the units. 

Council considered the preliminary development proposal on October 4, 2021, and resolved to allow the development to proceed with public consultation prior to the adoption of the Taylor Way Local Area Plan.

The applicant is hosting a preliminary public information meeting on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, from 6 to 8 p.m. To find out more about the preliminary public information meeting, please see the notification below.

Note: This is not District-led public consultation, it is being hosted by the applicant.

This proposal has not been submitted as a formal rezoning application and is still within the preliminary development application stage. Once formally submitted, the District will process the development application in compliance with the Development Procedures Bylaw that requires public notification and consultation. All rezoning applications must be approved by Council.
