Corporate Services

The Corporate Services Division oversees the District’s Bylaw & Licensing Services, Information Technology Services, Facilities Management, Emergency Planning, municipal property transactions and legal services provided to the District.
The division also acts as the municipality’s liaison to the Squamish Nation.
Information Technology Services manages the computer equipment, applications and technology infrastructure, telephone systems and wide-area network linking municipal facilities, and provides support services for employees and residents who use these services.

Facilities Management provides a pan-organizational approach to facilities and asset maintenance, replacement and renewal, and is responsible for licences and leases over municipal buildings.

Bylaw & Licensing Services enforces a range of municipal bylaws, rules and regulations designed to keep citizen’s safe and keep West Vancouver a clean and peaceful community.
Bylaw Officers work to resolve complaints through education and voluntary compliance wherever possible. Officers oversee the enforcement of bylaws that cover these broad areas:
- parking and traffic bylaws
- controlled substance nuisance properties (grow-ops)
- good neighbour practices (property standards)
- animal control
- heavy vehicles on prohibited routes
- traffic control
- park patrols
- filming
- noise
- signs
- vehicles for hire
- solid waste and wildlife attractants
- illegal dumping
The department is also responsible for awareness of and compliance with licensing and permitting requirements for:
- business licensing
- filming
- commercial vehicles
- commercial dog walking
Bylaw Officers are available to respond to service requests from the public from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week.

The Lands Department is responsible for the administration of municipally-owned land and municipal property transactions.
