Cool North Shore Event: 100% Renewable Energy in Cities

Several international cities have set a 100% renewable energy goal for the electricity, building and/or transportation sectors, including the City of Vancouver. Learn more about this interesting and progressive idea at Cool North Shore’s next Cool Drinks event.

Keane Gruending of SFU’s Renewable Cities Program will explain why cities should adopt a 100% renewable energy target and how this SFU initiative supports cities in achieving this objective. Matt Horne from the City of Vancouver will discuss the municipality’s Renewable City Strategy, how it is being implemented, and why the city decided to aim for 100% of its energy from renewable sources for buildings and the transportation sector by 2050.
