Community Engagement Committee
Purpose
The Community Engagement Committee is a select committee of Council which oversees:
- the establishment and implementation of new working groups and revisions as may be necessary to Working Group Guidelines
- the optimal functioning of the District's other community engagement activities, as may be directed by Council.
Duties
Work with staff liaisons to prepare terms of reference for working groups and proposed revisions; selection of working group members; provide oversight to the working group process, and community engagement activities approved by Council; provide guidance to the Council and staff representatives to working groups with respect to operating principles, process and structural issues; provide advice and recommendations to Council on any matters referred to the committee by Council, as well as on new approaches to engage and consult with the community; and provide an annual work plan to Council.
Term
Appointments are made annually by Council for a two-year term.
